Objectives

Creation of a database of long run macroeconomic time series for the Greek economy

Description of Work

1. Unify various fragmented data sources under a common database while using a single system of classification for sectors of economic activities.

2. Use data from ELSTAT, EUROSTAT, OECD STAN, EUKLEMS, Input-Output Tables

3. Target variables are the following

a. Output
b. Valued added (and its components)
c. Intermediate inputs
d. Employment (with distinction between employees and self-employed)
e. Capital stock (by asset class and sector)
f. Investment
g. Deflators

4. Target period 1958-2020

Tasks

1. Identify data sources
2. Identify major data series
3. Identify breaks in major data series
4. Unify databases and link data series
5. Create database in excel or equivalent program

Deliverables

Deliverable D2: Macroeconomic Database of the Greek Economy in the form of excel or other equivalent file
