The research team

The research team consists of six members: Professor Stavros Mavroudeas, dr. Costas Passas, dr. Nikos Rodousakis, dr. Kostas Loizos, dr. Vlassis Missos and dr. Christos Pierros. All have a strong understanding of the field of political economy in general and of the heterodox tradition in political economy in particular; coupled with considerable experience in data handling and econometrics. Moreover, all have previously done fundamental research in areas that are critical to the current project including econometrics and modelling. Finally, they have a long-term acquaintance, with extensive previous collaboration between them in various projects. It is important to note that the format of two work packages per milestone allows for maximum exploitation of the possibilities allowed from the particular team in the shortest timeframe possible, with each member of the project team being independent in the formulation of his particular deliverable, although final responsibility rests with the Principal Investigator.

Professor Stavros Mavroudeas (principal investigator) will be responsible for the overall project management (WP8) and communication and dissemination of the results to the public (WP7). CV

Kostas Loizos will be responsible for the calculation and formulation of qualitative and quantitative measures of competition (WP4). His expertise is on issues of Banking Regulation and the Development Finance and therefore he is considered as well placed for the formulation and estimation of measures of competition for the Greek economy. CV

Vlassis Missos will be responsible for the review of the literature (WP1). His expertise is on issues that bridge the gap between economic theory and the implementation of social policy and therefore he is considered well placed for the compilation of a review of literature on heterodox macroeconomic modelling from the perspective of open and inclusive societies CV

Costas Passas will be responsible for the econometric estimation of key variables (WP3) and the estimation of the classical-Marxian macroeconomic models (WP6). His expertise is on productivity measures and the empirical estimation of Marxian variables and thus he is considered as well placed for the implantation of heterodox macroeconomic models in general. In addition, he will have an additional coordinating role in the project management (WP8) for Researchers from KEPE. CV

Christos Pierros will be responsible for the development of the database (WP2). His expertise can be found in issues of empirical estimation of stock-flow consistent macroeconomic models and therefore he is considered as well placed for the development of the database. CV

Nikos Rodousakis will be responsible for the estimation of mainstream macroeconomic models (WP5). His expertise is on Input-Output Tables and structural macroeconometric models and thus he is considered as well placed for the implementation of the estimation of mainstream macroeconomic models. CV
